The owner of the loan gave American General the title to their loan as collateral after they kept extending his loan. This man was gravelly ill and suffering from dementia and they took advantage of him.
He had also put up as collateral, a riding lawn mower which he did not own. The owner died and when the family told them and asked that they pick up the car, they, (American General) refused, stating the car was no use to them. The manager told us they did not care what we did with it, junk it! However they refuse to release the title.
It has been 12 years since he died and we now have a piece of junk in our yard and no one to turn to as I heard American General was taken over by another company?
