Trying to sell my home. buyers attorney FOUND a 2000 lien for about $14K, which I knew nothing about. and I NEED TO KNOW WHAT THE TO DO, get my own attorney or take them to court, ?????
13K lien on my home unknown to me.... and I sold the house but buyer must get clean bill of sale, etc......
Preferred solution: release lien on my property so it can be sold..... immediately!

They seemed friendly and so willing to help. I need a lien release, so I can have my house re financed.
My credit union is going through all the steps they asked. But American General is putting up every road block. All I need is an account number.
I have the exact date the loan was done. Still, no answers.

Just no answer, i called yesterday as well as today a few times but says to leave message. Ive left 2 so far but yet no call back.

Company was full in full on a past account where as they were used by "Gateway" Computer Co. and is now attempting to again collect on monies they already received.

My ex and I had a property and a loan we took out then divorce came along and it wasnt paid and gave americna general the keys to the home . I still get a tax statement each yr from the county and nothing os on our credit or shows nothing like everything has disappeared..

Hello, I understand your position wholeheartedly dealing with an old debt with American General since 2004. They have been bought out from three different debt collectors agencies since they have gone out of business.
Currently, June 20th 2024 Resurgent Capitol is the company that I contacted 877264****. They were a HUGE answer to my prayer after 20 years of having a lien on my property. I was directed to there Bankruptcy department. In which I had file Bankruptcy in 2005, I included AGF as part of it.
In the meantime AGF went forwward and added the lien to my property. I was told that the old debt with AGF was dismiss in May 2020. I was completely STOCKED. Then I explained to them that there is a lien on my property with AGF.
They were unaware of this. I requested a release of lien off my property on June 10th 2024. I was told to check back in 7 days. I checked back, and I received the BEST NEWS I HEARD IN 20 years.
That the lien was released and the document was filed in my local county court. And I should receive a letter in 10 days of the satisfaction of the release. I was so excited about the good news until I decided to visit my county court today to see if it was recorded. YES INDEED!!
IT WAS RECORDED IN MY LOCAL COUNTY PROBATE DEPARTMENT. AS SATISFIED AND PAID IN FULL. It only cost me $1.00 for the recorded copy.
This was the most greatest feeling that I received on today June 20th 2024 after dealing with this for 20 long years. I shared my story hoping this will help someone else will have a HAPPY ending
